Your views required on a new SAFEGROUNDS record-keeping project

Please note: This form is no longer active. For information on the current status of the SAFEGROUNDS record keeping project please follow this link.

There is currently very limited guidance or information from SAFEGROUNDS on record-keeping (see other guidance for details). However, SAFEGROUNDS participants have indicated its importance and have called for a project to produce new detailed good practice guidance. When completed this will be made available on the SAFEGROUNDS website.

Your views are sought on what should be included in a specification for a project to produce good practice guidance for record-keeping for the management of contaminated land on nuclear and defence sites.

Please use some or all of the prompts below to make us aware of any issues you feel should be considered as we move towards defining and developing this project. This will help us make the guidance as relevant as possible to our stakeholders.

1.

How do you perceive the problems relating to record-keeping and why do you think good practice guidance is required?

2.

What existing initiatives should be taken into account in developing guidance?

3.

How would you express the aim, objectives, scope and scale of the project?

4.

What records need to be kept, what stages of land management should they relate to, how do they relate to existing SAFEGROUNDS guidance and how they should be kept?

5.

What do you think is an appropriate methodology for carrying out the project?

6.

What outputs would you find useful and what benefits would you anticipate from them?

7.

Are there any specific tasks that need to be undertaken within the project and are there any particular timing issues?

8.

Who should the stakeholder participants be for the project, what are their roles in record-keeping and do you have useful contacts you wish to suggest?

9.

Are there any other issues we should be aware of in developing the project?
